    BIOGRAPHY: According to http://us-gen.org/in/warrick/firstfamilies/perigoromey.htm, Romey was lost in France and picked up by French sailors who brought him to Maryland.

    Some old differences of opinion had Asahel as the son of James. This error was fostered by Royal Hinman in his Genealogy of the Puritan Settlers of the Colony of Connecticut (1852), p. 881. See also p. 865 on which he omitted Asahel's birth but showed the birth of his twin Asher. The Goshen vital records clearly show that Asahel and his twin brother were children of Samuel Hinman.
