Father*Valentine Haefner1 (c 1783 - 1874)
Mother*Priscilla Burch1 (c 1785 - b 1870)

Family

Francis Leander Aude b. c 1821, d. 1889
Children 1.Joseph Francis Aude14 (1854 - 1942)
 2.Mary Susan Aude15 (1867 - 1947)
Her married name was Aude.
No primary source has been bound for either the birth or marriage of Barbara A Haefner.
That she is the daughter of Valentine and Pauline is inferred from the 1850 census and her being a sponsor at the baptism of (sister) Theresa's son, George Walter Casey.
That this is the same person that married Francis L Aude is deduced from the death record of her son Joseph F, which gives "Hefner" as the maiden name of his mother (though the death record of her daughter Mary Susan has Worthington as her mother's maiden name). These are index records and the death certificates have not been seen.
Also, in the 1900 census, Barbara A, now a widow, gives her father's birthplace as Germany and her mother's as Kentucky, the birthplaces of Valentine and Pauline.
Perhaps contradicting this, F L Aud No primary source has been bound for either the birth or marriage of Barbara A Haefner.

KY, appears in the 1850 U.S. Census in Yuba Co. CA. Barbara was in Missouri for the 1850 census. According to Earl Ramey in "Beginnings of Marysville (Part II)" in Caifornia Society Quarterly XIV:4, p. 397, "Francis L. Aude was born in Kentucky but came to California from Missouri. He arrived in Marysville in the spring of 1850 and practiced [law] until his departure in 1862, during which years he was very active in local politics, going to the Assembly in 1858." Perhaps he married Barbara while in Missouri, and she later followed him to California.2
