"In the fall and winter of 1833-1834, Father John Boullier had as his guest and part-time assistant, Father John St. Cyr, the priest who built the first church in Chicago. Father St. Cyr had been on a tour seeking funds for his straggling church in Chicago and stopped to spend the winter months with Father Boullier. In a letter to Bishop Rosati. June 4, 1833, Father St. Cyr said: 'Everything proclaims that Chicago will one day become a great town and one of commercial importance.2'"
