The town clerk of Lebanon who examined the records for information relating to Stileses, remarks, concerning the lands purchased by Robert Stiles: "I do not find that he disposed of it by conveyance, and conclude that he must have died while still in possession of the land, and it must have descended to his heirs by will or distribution." From the town records of Hebron, Conn., we find that "Robert Stiles died on ye 25th day of February, 1720."
