    Dear Harold,
With some differences in dates, your postings of 29 June 2003 at RootsWeb.com agree with mine on this branch of the Tremper Family. My branch is from Kingston, Ulster Co. and are cousins to yours in Orange Co. and Sullivan Co. From various sources, I have John Tremper born ca 1795 in Orange Co. married Elizabeth (Betsy) Snyder/Snider, born 1806 in Orange Co. She was his cousin, through the Trempers.
John was a son of John George Tremper b 1 March 1751 at Clarkstown (then Orange Co, now in Rockland Co.) and Mary (Polly) Ten Eyck, born March 1765. John George Tremper died 6 Aug 1827 at Montgomery and is buried in St. Andrews Cemetery there. Polly Ten Eyck died 20 June 1842 and is buried in the same place. They were married 29 July 1794 at Kakiat RDC, Orange Co. Info is from the George H. Budke collection at New City Library, New City, Rockland Co, NY.
This couple had the following children:
    Margrietje/Mary E. (ca 1794)
John (1795-1799) married Elizabeth (Betsy) Snyder/Snider, born 1806 at Orange Co.
Jacob (born 5 June 1796) married Maria Roosa (1802) ca 1830. Went to Michigan.
John George (10 May 1797) married Sarah Perry (born 10 May 1795) on 16 Oct 1819 at Tappan RDC, Clarkstown
Phoebe Ten Eyck (born 1801) married Wilmot Haines, born 3 Aug 1794 at Orange Co. on 9 Mar 1819 at Brick RDC, Montgomery, Orange Co.
Catherine Snyder (born 25 Mar 1803) married Jacob La Tourette (born 18 Feb 1802) on 14 Feb 1822 at St.Andrews, Walden, Orange Co.

I am searching for information on the family and ancestors of my gg grandfather Wilmot Haines who was born in Montgomery Twp, Orange Co., NY in 1793. In 1819 he married Phebe Teneych (Ten Eyck?)Tremper at the Montgomery Reformed Dutch Church. Among their children were my g grandfather, John Frank Haines(b. 1829), Jacob Dewitt Haines(1823), George Newton Haines, and William Bayard Haines. I've sorted out some of Wilmot's descendents, but I find nothing on his parents and siblings. Any help, including wild guesses, would be appreciated.
