Biographical Sketches of Richard Ellis has, on p. 375, "Lieut. John Ellis and Samuel Annable, Jr., residents of Ashfield, married sisters—Mary (or Molly) and Desire Dimick. They were from "the Cape," or Barnstable Co., Mass., where the Dimicks were numerous....Charles, Edward and Constant Dimick, of Barnstable, were probably brothers of Desire and Molly, of Ashfield."
The only Desire Dimick in Barnstable Town records with a birth that fits with her marriage date is Desire Dimock, dau. of Edward Dimock and Hannah _____, b. 6 Aug 1730; siblings named are Anna, b. 23 Nov 1721, and Thomas, b. 16 Mar 1727.3
