Born in Grotte, Sicily, Italy, she was the daughter of the late Calogero and Giacomina (Carlisi) Patanella. Maria was raised in Italy where she attended local schools before moving to Niagara Falls, Canada in 1956. On October 26, 1957, she married John R. Morreale at St. Anne Roman Catholic Church in Canada and moved to Niagara Falls, NY, where they spent 33 loving years together. Mr. Morreale predeceased her on February 23, 1990. Maria was self-employed as a seamstress and was also a longtime member of St. Joseph Church. Above all, Marias life was centered around her family. She especially enjoyed cooking and baking for family gatherings. Maria is survived by her two children, Peter (Toni) Morreale and Charles (Janice) Morreale; nieces, Tonina, Jackie, Carmelina, Debra, Diana, Donna; and one nephew, James. She was the loving sister to the late Maria Angelina Patanella, late Venera (Decimo) Castronovo, late Carmello Patanella, late Angelo Patanella, late Stefano Patanella, late Guiseppe (Yolanda) Patanella and late Antonio Patanella."
