He was a World War II Army veteran, having served in the 320 Bomber Division.
He retired in 1977 from the U.S. Postal Service after 35 years of service as a letter carrier.
He was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ Downtown, Masonic Lodge 64, Scottish Rite, Hadi Temple, Past Watchman of Shepherd Bethlehem Shrine 2, Past Royal Parton Elinor Markel Memorial Court 14 Amaranth, Eastern Star 555 and AARP Chapter 1956.
Surviving are his wife of 45 years, Emma; a sister Edna Flicker of Dale, Ind; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Alexander Funeral Home West Chapel, the Rev. James Coons-Torn officiating, with burial in Bellefontaine Cemetery in Mount Vernon, Ind.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today, with a masonic service at 7 p.m., at the funeral home.
