John B. Lewis, in Genealogy of the Lewis Family, states that this Andrew was one of three brothers (William, Samuel) who "quit France and bought a home in Wales; whilst there, they obtained a grant from the king of Great Britain of land in Colerain, near Londonderry, Ireland..."
W. T. Lewis, in Genealogy of the Lewis Family in America, has this Andrew as the son of William, one of four brothers (Samuel, Genl. Robert, John) who "settled in Wales".1,2
