Notes for HENRY LAWRENCE: Henry's ancestry has not yet been determined. It was thought at one time that he was the son of Michael Lawrence, grandson of Robert Lawrence of Nansemond County, an early settler to Virginia from England. Robert Garrett's DNA test analyzed in 2004, when compared with known descendants of Robert Lawrence, has shown that, although there might be a distant relationship to this branch of Lawrence's, any common ancestry with this branch would have been many centuries earlier than Robert of Nansemond County.
  4. [S348] Lawrence Family of Reynoldsburg Illinois, online www.heritech.com, After the death of her husband Henry Lawrence in 1768, Elizabeth remarried on July 18 1775 to David Powers. This was likely a marriage of necessity since there were still four children to raise. Elizabeth was still living in 1797, when the land they were living on was sold.
