The January - February 1980 issue of De Nederlandsche Leeuw (to which the Society subscribes) contains an article at columns 28-33 on the Dutch ancestry of the Van Valkenburg(h) family, descended from Lambert van Valckenburch of Albany. As his only known son was named Jochem, it has been suggested that Jochem was his patronymic; however, the article shows instead the following ancestry:
Andries van Valckenburch, born about 1540, tailor of Millen, a village between Maastricht and Tongeren in the present-day Province of Limburg in Belgium. He and his wife were both dead by 27 October 1609. They were the parents of Lamberg Dryeskns [i. e. Andriessen] van Valckenburch, property owner in Millen, died there 9 March 1651, married about 1595 Maria - who died at Millen 20 October 1650. They were the parents of:
Lambert van Valckenburch, baptized at Millen 16 April 1614 (sponsors: Michiel Scepers and Elisabeth Baesten), betrothed at Amsterdam 4 January 1642 to Annetje Jacobs from Tonningen [in Schleswig-Holstein], age 20. In the betrothal record Lambert van Valckenburch described himself as age 26, from Millen, having no living parents! In 1643 or 1644 the couple immigrated to New Netherland, and their descendants have been traced in Paul I. Van Valkenburg The Van Valkenburg Family in America.

And after their having declared to be free persons and (not) related to each other in blood, which would prevent a Christian marriage, their banns have been granted."
