A. Original Will 3 Jun 1895. 1. Gives $500 to procure masses for “my soul and the souls of my parand all of my family departed;” $500 to Rev. P. J. Ryan, Archbishop of Philadelphia; $500 to the Maternity Hospital of the House of the Angel Guardian, Sisters of Charity. 2. Gives $500 to niece Mary Maurice Sharkey. 3. Remainder to sister Amelia A. Brady, from which $200 yearly “under the will of my father William Whelan” for sister Frances J Whelan. 4. Orders that there be no inventory of the estate. 5. Appoints as Executrix sister Amelia A. Brady. Witnesses Walter F Atlee and Edw. D McLoughlin.
B. Codicil 14 Dec 1897. “Inasmuch as there has been a change in my circumstances…” 1. Revokes the bequests for masses, to Rev. Ryan, to the Maternity Hospital and to Mary Maurice Sharkey. 2. That these amounts totaling $2000 go to sister Amelia A. Brady. 3. Directs the Executrix to expend $200 to procure masses as previously described. Witnesses Walter Franklin Atlee and Edw. D McLoughlin.
C. Inventory and Appraisal 24 Oct 1905. Cash on hand $4747.59. 26 Oct 1895, deduction of funeral expenses and cost of settlement and appraisal of real estate: 4 story brick building at 137 North 2nd Street $10,500.00, one-half interest $5,250.00.
D. Statement by Executrixes Mary Brady and Kate Brady, 1941 Vine Street, stating the date of death of Susan E. Whelan as 27 Jul 1905. States that Amelia A Brady had died 9 Mar 1900.
