William E Whelan, merchant of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, "anxious for the welfare of my dear children," requests brother John G Whelan and friend John Hazeltine to act as executors; names minor children Mary Eugenia Whelan and Henry Courtland [sic] Whelan, benefits to be evenly divided; property to be invested and each to receive support for living and education; then, at age twenty-one, Mary Eugenia to receive the interest on one half of the property, and Henry, at the same age, also to receive one half interest; Henry, at age twenty four, to receive the principal of his proportion of the property. In the event of the death of either Mary Eugenia (before age twenty one) or Henry (before the age of twenty four), the survivor to recive the deceased's share; in the event of the death of both before these ages, the interest is to be divided between the children of brother George L Eyre and the children of brother John G Whelan.
