Thomas Stephen Casey, for about ten years superintendent of the Los Angeles water department, shortly after his arrival here, 30 years ago, was buried yesterday at Calvary Cemetery after funeral services at the Church of Our Lady of Loretto. The Funeral services were conducted by Rev. George Donohoe and were attended by many old-time residents of the city and members of the Knights of Columbus, in which order Mr. Casey was at one time prominent.
He was a native of St. Louis. After going through the grade schools of that city, he graduated from the Christian Brothers College. He was 68 years of age at the time of his death, which came after a lingering illness. His acquaintance in railroad circles was large, as he traveled for years on the Southern Pacific and Santa Fe as an inspector of services. He leaves three daughters. One of them, Miss Charlotte Casey, is widely known in educational circles of the coast. She is the present librarian of the Public School Library. The other daughters are Mrs. William Kamps of Los Angeles and Mrs. Frank Crowley of the Conejo Rancho, near Newberry Park.
