Joseph was in the house of Mary Ann McBride, née Joyce, in 1861 (as McBride) and 1871 (as Joyce), and appears to be her son from her marr. with Robert McBride. Mary Ann McBride is in the house of Joseph Joyce in 1891 as his mother He also seems to have taken the surname Joyce - the Thomas Joyce named as his father may be his grandfather. If he was the son of Thomas, his mother would have been Elizabeth Ryan. His death record, prob. in Nova Scotia, has not been found.1 | ||
