"A pretty wedding occurerd [sic] Wednesday at No. 605 West Orange street, when Dr. Charles Edward Netscher was married to Miss Mary Elizabeth, daughter of the late John Sheaff, by the Rev. Father Clement S. Burger, rector of the Sacred Heart Church. The best man was Dr. T. Q. Garvey, and the flower girl was Miss Helen T Netscher. Mr. J. H. Gerhart and Harvey B. Lutz, Esq.. were the ushers. Miss Alice McConomy played the wedding march. The ceremony took place in the handsomely decorated parlor in the presence of numerous guests. The bride was gowned in white crepe de chene. and carried a bouquet of Bride roses. Caterer Eckert served the elegant wedding breakfast. The bride was the recipient of many beautiful gifts. Upon their return from a trip to St. Louis, Niagara Falls and St. Augustine, Fla. Dr. and Mrs. Netscher will reside at No. 46 North Prince street."

  8. [S2710] New-Era, Mon., 22 Feb 1932, p. 1. "Dr. Charles Edward Netscher, 609 West Orange street, for forty-eight years a practicing physician in this city, died at his home at noon today. The physician was stricken with paralysis on Saturday night. He was seventy-four years old.
    "Dr. Netscher was born in Mercersburg September 29, 1851, a son of the late Rev. Francis and Catharine E. McCune Netscher. He received his early education in the Mercersburg schools and then came to Franklin and Marshall College where he was graduated and received his Bachelor of Arts degree. He then attended the Jefferson Medical College where he received his M. D. degree.
    "Shortly after graduating at Jefferson Dr. Netscher came to Lancaster and became one of the city's best known family physicians.
    "He was a member of St. Paul's Reformed church for forty-eight years. He was also affiliated with Zeta chapter of the Phi Kappa Sigma fraternity, Lamberton Lodge. No. 476, P. and A. M. the Lancaster County Medicaid Society and the American Medical Association.
    "Dr. Netscher was married twice. His first wife who was Miss Mary Sener, of this city, before her marriage, died thirty-four years ago. He is survived by hie second wife, who before her marriage. was Miss Elizabeth Sheaff, this city. He is survived also by one son, Carl N Netscher, of this city. and two daughters, Mrs. Helen E. Carpenter, wife of
    Henry C. Carpenter, this city, and A. Marguerite Watson, wife of Stanley A. Watson, Newtown. Pa. He is survived also by three-grandchildren.
    "Funeral services will be held at the Netscher home 609 West Orange street, Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Interment will be in Greenwood cemetery."
