    Harry F. Gay, a resident of the Vista district for 12 years, died Sunday night, March 3, 1940, in Los Angeles. His death followed complications after an attack of Phlebitis and came unexpected.
    Mr. Gay was born in Newton Highlands, Mass., Dec. 9, 1882. He was a resident of Chicago for many years, where he was engaged in the advertising business. Shortly before coming to Vista his wife passed away, leaving him with two young sons. He had the admiration of many friends and neighbors here for the fine way in which he made a home on his ranch and cared for the boys, educating them to manhood.
    Survivors are his sons, Robert A. and Nathaniel K., and a sister, Mrs. Margaret G. Denison, of Beverly Hills.
    Funeral services were held Wednesday morning at the Wee Kirk o' the Heather and interment was at Forest Lawn, Glendale.
