"To all Christian People, before whome these presents shall come Michaell Tarne & Elizabeth his wife & Joshua Rice theire Son Inhabitants of the Town of Boston in the Mattachusetts Colony in New England sendeth greeting: Know Yee that they the sd. Michael Tarn and Elizabeth his sd. wife and Joshua Rice theire sd. Son for & in consideration of twenty pounds Sixteen Shillings and three pence in hand paid by Richard Truesdail, Edward Raynsford & Jacob Eliott Deacons of the Church Vizt. of the Senior. Church in Boston aforesd. it being of the sd. Church Stock, the receipt whereof wee do hereby acknowledge, Have given granted bargained Sold enfeoffed & confirmed, and by there presents doe bargain Sell give grant enfeoffe & contirme unto the s“. Deacons to the use & behoofe of the Church aforesd. all that theire now dwelling house and all the Land thereunto adjoining and belonging, Lying standing & being in Boston aforesd. and is bounded by the Land of the widdow Hanna Moore westerly, by the Land of William Pell Eastward, by the Streete Northward & by the Land of Richard Cooke Southward with all, and singuler the ffruites effects profits priviledges & every the appurtenances thereof or thereunto belonging or in anywise appertaining To Have & to hold the sd. bargained premisses with all the trees and other appurtenances thereunto belonging as before bounded to them the said Deacon Richard Truesdail, Deacon Edward Raynsford and Deacon Jacob Eliott & every of them, theire Successors and every of them jointly & severally to the onely use and behoofe of the sd. Church from the delivery of these presents forever: Alwaies provided and it is the true intent and meaning hereof that in case they the sd. Michael Tarn and Elizabeth his sd. wife before theire decease or either of them shall well and truly repay or cause to bee repaid the sd. full and just Sume of
twenty pounds sixteen Shillings and three pence in currant mony of New England or in case the sd. Joshua Rice (within
one full yeare after the decease of his sd. parents) his heires Exec". or assignes shall well and truly Satisfy content &
repay or cause to bee satisfied contented & repaid the Sume aforesd. unto the sd. Deacons in manner & forme aforesd. or
to theire Successors to the onely use & behoofe of the Church above mentioned then this Deed to bee void and of none
Effect, otherwise to stand as a full and perfect Deed of Sale gift & grant to all intents & purposes, and according to the
Law’s of this Jurisdiction. In Vitness whereof the sd. Michael Tarn & Elizabeth his sd. wife and Joshua Rice theire sd. Son
have hereunto put theire hands and Seales this XXVijth. day of October in the XXth veare of the Reign of our Sovereign
