Ann Simpson is almost certainly dau. of either Ignatius Simpson (more prob.) or Benjamin Simpson. Ignatius had a dau. b ca. 1816, and both had a dau. b. ca. 1820. In 1840, neis. of Benj. Ward and Ann Simpson were John Hesson and Nancy Ward, and Benjamin Simpson and Sally Roddy.3 
Ignatius was a witness at Sarah's marriage; Ignatius and Benjamin (and John Hesson) were in Grass Tshp., Spencer Co., IN, 1830 census.2 
While the names of the children of both Benjamin and Ignatius are not known, there were the following marriages in Spencer County following the 1830 census of Spencer County, in which the only Simpson entries are for Benjamin and Ignatius, both in Grass Township (the entries are in alphabetical order so it cannot be known if they were neighbors):
