His sisters Jannetje and Geesje also emigrated, but it is not known if they all came together, and if their parents accompanied them, or not, though Jannetje seems to have come by herself in a ship of Judith Verleth’s."

- [S1344] Howard S. F. Randolph, "Tryntje Jacobs and Her Four Husbands", p. 266, citing N. Y. Hist. Soc. Coll. 1892-280. "In 1688 they made a joint will before Claas Arentsen Tours in Bergen, N. J., “testator sicke in body and the testatrix in health going and standing.” In this will they mention the testator’s sister Geesie Gerrits; Antie Jans, daughter of Jan Dircksen Stratenmaker and Geesje Gerrits; Elizabeth Ottose, daughter of Otto Gerritsen (Elizabeth Cornelis’ step-son) and Engeltie Pieterse; and the children of the testator’s sister Janettie Gerritse, “seven in number,” namely, Johannes, Gerritse, Antie, Christofells, Urselina, Mary and Benjamin Stymetts. This list of the children of Caspar Steynmets is most interesting, as it does not include Altje (No. 5 ), or Caspar (No. 9), who had probably died, and it calls Joanna (No. 11) “Mary.” But in spite of his illness Guert lived on until Feb. 28, 1697, and his widow died Jan. 24, 1707.
