Peter, born in North Andover, Massachusetts, spent most of his childhood in Danvers, where he attended St. John's Preparatory School. Peter graduated from Boston University's (BU) School of Public Communications. He worked at WBUR and WCRB as a classical musical announcer. He continued this work in New Mexico, California, and Illinois before settling in Florida where he worked at the University of Central Florida until his retirement. His parents, Dr. William and Louise Carroll of Danvers, predeceased Peter. He is survived by his close friend and companion, Susan Bailey and her children, William, David, and Tammy Mosher. He also leaves several cousins in Massachusetts and New Brunswick, Canada. A memorial service will be held on November 1st at 9:00 A M at St. Mary's of the Annunciation Catholic Church in Danvers."
